The Clay Marble

The Clay Marble
by Minfong Ho

Dara is one of the thousands of Cambodian families that got separated or destroyed by the war, but there is still hope for her family as they head to a refugee camp by the Thailand border. When safely there, Dara meets and becomes friends with a young girl named Jantu who has almost a magical touch in creating things like toys with mud and scraps of fabric. When the camp is bombed, Jantu makes a clay marble to help Dara track down their families and then return to help Jantu and her brother at the hospital. This book is a very intense read, you need to read it to find out what will happen!
